Deborah comments on her most recent work featured here:
“Late Bloomers” has a long history - the quilted panel itself was part of a triptych begun in 2011. The finished work (Then and Now) ended up being a diptych - this third panel just didn’t work well with them. As the panel hung in full view on my design wall all those years, I had never been satisfied with a way to bring it to a finished work of art. Recently I began playing with an idea incorporating a floral theme experimenting with many techniques before settling on this design of three dimensional fantastical blossoms in my imaginary garden. A friend named it ‘Late Bloomers.’ It is probably the most representational art work I have ever executed, my usual style is to work in the abstract.
