Artist of the Month: CAROLYN EDLUND

Our February Longreach Artist Carolyn H Edlund, an accomplished painter, enjoys residence in the Mid-Hudson Valley and the inspiration that landscape offers at once tranquil and dramatic. Nature, humanity, and emotion, the harmonies and disparities they provide are foundation for chosen subjects. Her work lands between surrealism, traditional, and contemporary ideals. Painting what moves her; she may incorporate multiple scenes or times of day, and employs the power of light and color to capture a subject. Objects less familiar lend interest to her repertoire, as noted in Osseous Matter, Revelation, Beginning to End, and Cold Turkey (find representations of these on her website: https://www.carolynedlund.com/ ). Known and collected internationally, her work is available at galleries. She is listed on AskArt.com, the Artists Bluebook, Worldwide Edition and on Artprice.com, the world’s leading resource for art market information. “All painting is a self-portrait communication between people, even in a landscape.” - Ken Burns (2009)
