My interest is in the transformation of materials, especially paper, and in making totally disparate materials and objects into a cohesive whole. At times I
introduce my own calligraphy. The dialogue of color, form and space rides the edge of what is sculpture and what is painting.
An artist and lecturer of art history at Marist College, Dutchess Community College and Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Degrees from Vassar College, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude; New York University, Honors. Nancy Scott studied and traveled in Europe from l960-2003 studying at the University of Stockholm, Sweden in l974-5. In the USA she also studied at the Art Students League, New School for Social Research and Parsons School of Design.
Nancy's artwork has been exhibited in the Hudson Valley, New York City and Europe and is in the collection of the Dutchess Community College, as well as other collections in the United States and Europe.
