:: artist's statement

I have been painting since my early studios at Nazareth College and later at New Paltz. Studying with Alex Martin, noted Hudson Valley painter, who introduced me to 'plein air' landscape painting. The horizon always appears in my work.

In the nineties I worked with Stuart Diamond, NYC painter and teacher at Columbia University and began using collage and photo transfer in my work.

My subject is now more personal and introspective using images of myself , my mother and my family. My art gives me entry into the realities of my mind while I continue attempting to take the 'glue' out of the landscape.
